Packing:

Tissue Aid is supplied in a 0.8 gram sealed aluminum tube with two single use flexible dispensers and all are packaged in a sterile Tyvex™ pouch.

Instructions for use:

Step 1:

Prior to application of TissueAid™, thoroughly clean the wound following standard surgical practice for wound preparation (i.e. irrigate, debride, ensure hemostasis and close deep layers ensuring wound edges can be easily approximated) .

Pat the wound with dry, sterile gauze to ensure direct contact of the TissueAid™ with the skin.

Step 2:

Remove the TissueAid™ from the blister pack. While holding the aluminum tube between the thumb and forefinger of one hand and the spout with the other hand, turn the spout clockwise and thread onto the aluminum tube until the tube seal is pierced, allowing the TissueAid™ to flow to the beak.

Gently squeeze the tube to express enough TissueAid™ to moisten the soft tip.

Step 3:

Approach the edges of the wound with your fingers or sterile forceps. Gently apply TissueAid™ Liquid in a continuous layer to the surface of the approximate wound edges using a gentle brushing motion.

Try to finish the application in one minute before the soft tip dries. Do not squeeze the tube when the tip is dry and stiff.

Step 4:

Maintain manual approximation of the wound edges for approximately 60 seconds until the adhesive dries.

Full apposition strength is expected to be achieved within a few minutes of applying the adhesive. If the adhesive is over-applied, a longer drying time is required.
If the tip dries out and continuous application is required, remove the used tip and replace it with the second soft tip. Follow steps 2 and 3 to apply TissueAid™.
